Sculpted in Florence Italy in the 18th century by the famed Italian artist Antonio Frilli, each of these magnificent figurines represents one of the four seasons. A true work of art, these Four exquisitely hand sculpted Statues were made from a very high quality and rare white Marble called Statuario, best known for its purity and flawlessness. Brief History: Famous for his mastery at the art of sculpting, Antonio Frilli learned his craft in the mid 18th century at the renowned Fioretina Art School in Florence Italy, best known for its Le Opere Marmoree (Marble Artistary). The Four Seasons, one of Frilli's last works, were first aquired in the early 19th century by the renowned Contessa Corliano from Florence Italy who housed them at her family mansion in Florence. The statues remained at the Contessa's possession till late 19th century, before they were aquired by an art collector from Rome who remains unknown to this date. These exquisite statues have since changed hands by several art collectors who have from time to time placed them in various exhibitions around the world.
